Job Description
Are you an experienced Special Needs Teacher looking for a new opportunity to make a difference? Do you want to work in a supportive school as part of an amazing team? This special school is looking for a Special Needs Teacher to teach a small class of Key Stage 4 children with complex learning needs. The class that you will be teaching consist of 9 children with a range of special educational needs including communication impairments and Autism, experience with PECS or Makaton would be preferred.
As a Special Needs Teacher at this school, you will be working closely with an outstanding team of Teaching Assistants who will be supporting your class. You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons that are tailored to the individual needs of your children and ensuring that your classroom is a safe and nurturing environment. the school itself has excellent facilities, and you will be working with a Headteacher who truly cares about his staff and students. This role requires a QTS teacher, and the school is happy to accept applications from both primary and secondary trained teachers.
Job Role:
- Teaching small classes of Key Stage 4 students with Special Educational Needs.
- Planning and delivering lessons to meet the need of individual students.
- Liaising with the SENCO and TA’s to ensure children are supported appropriately.
- Making school a nurturing, welcoming and safe place for students.
- Taking your time to make your classroom a special place for each child.
- Working with an outstanding team of Special Needs Teachers and support staff.
