Special Needs Teacher – East Birmingham
Are you a dedicated Special Needs Teacher with experience in PECS and Makaton? This vibrant and inclusive special needs school, is seeking an experienced teacher to join their team and teach small classes of students with a range complex learning needs, including Autism, complex needs and communication impairments.

This role is perfect for an experienced Special Needs Teacher with a proven track record of working with children with special educational needs. You will be responsible for creating engaging and tailored lessons for children with complex needs. With excellent resources and a supportive leadership team, this school provides a fantastic environment for both staff and students to thrive.
Job Role:
  • Teaching small classes of students with special educational needs, focusing on individualised learning plans.
  • Using PECS and Makaton to support communication and engagement in the classroom.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where all students can achieve their potential.
  • Collaborating with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver effective and accessible lessons.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support holistic development.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children with Autism and other special educational needs.
  • Proficiency in PECS and Makaton is essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and creative approach to teaching.
  • A valid DBS check on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
