Social Worker – Family Safeguarding (East Hertfordshire)
📍 Welwyn & Hatfield (FS2) | Stevenage South
💰 £42.50 per hour (Umbrella)
🕓 Full-time | Temporary contract

Pertemps are proud to be working with Hertfordshire County Council to recruit experienced Social Workers to join their East Family Safeguarding Teams.
We currently have vacancies in the Welwyn & Hatfield FS2 and Stevenage South FS teams — both offering a supportive environment where you’ll work closely with experienced Team Managers and have access to structured supervision and professional support.
About the Role
This is a case-holding position with additional support provided by the Team Manager.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Managing a mixed caseload of up to 18 Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases.
Completing assessments and preparing documentation for court and care proceedings.
Working collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner agencies to deliver effective safeguarding outcomes.
Conducting home and school visits (mainly doorstop visits), with full risk assessments completed prior to visits.

The team operates a hybrid model, with remote working supported by regular contact and team collaboration.

Requirements
✅ Qualified Social Worker (QSW) registered with Social Work England
✅ Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience
✅ Proven experience in CIN, CP, and safeguarding work
✅ Strong assessment, written, and communication skills
✅ Confident working independently while contributing to a team environment
