Job Title: Assistant Director of Housing
Location: West London 
Contract Type: 6-Month Ongoing Contract
Pay Rate: £650 to £700 per day (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Full-time

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Director of Housing to lead and drive high-quality housing services across a large and diverse portfolio. This senior leadership role requires a dynamic and influential professional with a proven track record in housing management, service transformation, and stakeholder engagement.
You will play a key role in shaping service delivery, driving improvement, ensuring compliance, and supporting the organisation in delivering excellent outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Service Improvement
• Provide strong leadership across housing operations, tenancy services, homelessness, and resident support.
• Lead service transformation initiatives, driving efficiencies and improving customer experience.
• Ensure compliance with housing legislation, safeguarding, statutory duties, and regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement strategic plans in line with organisational objectives.
Operational & Performance Management
• Oversee service performance, budgets, KPIs, and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement and modernisation across all housing teams.
• Manage complex case escalations and support resolution of high-risk issues.
• Build strong partnerships with internal teams, local authorities, health services, support providers, and community organisations.

Requirements
• Significant senior-level housing leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of housing legislation, regulatory frameworks, and strategic housing functions.
• Proven track record in service transformation, performance management, and budget leadership.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence at all levels, including executive and political stakeholders.
• Degree-level education or equivalent, with CIH qualification desirable.
