Adult Social Worker - Learning Disabilities
All Wales Pledge rate
South Wales
37 hours p/w, hybrid

About the role:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Social Worker to join a Adult Learning Disability Team in South Wales on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities across the county. 

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will support individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives, promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and personal choice in line with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments, care planning, and reviews in partnership with individuals, carers, and other professionals.
  • Promote strengths-based practice and person-centred approaches.
  • Safeguard adults at risk in line with local and national safeguarding procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with health, housing, education, and voluntary sector partners to deliver integrated support.
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service development.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and continuous professional development.
About You

We are looking for a dedicated professional with:
  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent).
  • Social Care Wales registration (or eligibility to register).
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to promoting independence, rights, and choice.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
