About the Role: As a Junior Communications Assistant, you will provide essential support to the communications team, focusing on key systems such as Cisco, Aruba, CUCM, Teams Telephony, and Touchpoint. This medium-level post offers an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills while working alongside experienced professionals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the maintenance and operation of communication systems, including Cisco, Aruba, CUCM, Teams Telephony, and Touchpoint.
- Assisting with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues under the guidance of senior team members.
- Contributing to the setup, configuration, and monitoring of communication platforms to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Collaborating with the team to deliver high-quality support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to system operations and support activities.
- Adhering to the organisation’s policies on equality, diversity, and health and safety.
- Basic understanding of communication systems such as Cisco, Aruba, CUCM, Teams Telephony, or Touchpoint (or a willingness to learn quickly).
- Some experience or knowledge in IT or communications support (e.g., through education, internships, or entry-level roles).
- Competent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic troubleshooting.
- Relevant qualifications in IT, communications, or a related field (e.g., BTEC, A-Level, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting Cisco, Aruba, or similar communication platforms.
- Knowledge of telephony systems or Microsoft Teams integration.
- Full valid UK driving licence (if travel is required).
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced technical environment.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to work under supervision while showing initiative when appropriate.
- Competencies: Customer focus, teamwork, personal responsibility, and effective communication.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Required documents: Criminal Convictions Declaration, Confidentiality Agreement, 5 years’ references/work history, Health Declaration/Questionnaire, and Enhanced DBS.
- Flexibility to travel to various locations in Cardiff if required.
