Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Thursday 07:00–15:00, Friday 07:00–14:30, including bank holidays)

What You’ll Do:
As a Loader, you will:
- Collect various types of waste (food, garden, residual, hygiene, dry recycling, and trade waste) from households and businesses as per the council’s recycling and waste strategy.
- Ensure collections are completed on schedule, leaving areas clean, safe, and tidy.
- Return receptacles to their collection points without obstructing pavements or driveways.
- Monitor contamination in recycling collections and follow appropriate procedures.
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy when interacting with the public.
- Complete assisted and extra allocation collections accurately.
- Comply with all safe working practices and health and safety policies.
- Report incidents or concerns to the Area or Deputy Supervisor promptly.
- Complete relevant paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.
- Occasionally undertake additional tasks such as litter picking, emptying bins, or town centre sweeping (with training, e.g., sharps awareness).
- Be prepared to work at other depots if needed
We’re seeking reliable and team-oriented individuals who are:
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Able to provide 2 years of references/work history and a valid driving licence.
- Experienced in a similar operational environment (desirable but not essential).
- Committed to delivering a high-quality service with a positive attitude.
- Knowledgeable about health and safety practices and willing to adhere to council policies.
- Able to work independently, self-motivate, and communicate effectively.
- Flexible to work outside core hours, including bank holidays (double time pay plus a bank holiday leave day) and occasional weekends/evenings for rotas (voluntary) or emergencies (e.g., flooding, snow, or storm response).
- Welsh language skills are desirable (Level 1 or above).
- 2 years of references/work history.
- Valid driving licence.
