Salary: PAYE: £12.85 per hour | Umbrella: £16.32 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Thursday 7:30am–3:30pm, Friday 7:30am–3:00pm)
Contract Type: Temporary (12 weeks)

Network Recruitment Wales is recruiting two Street Cleansing Operatives to join a dedicated Waste & Cleansing team in Newport for a temporary 12-week assignment to cover a secondment.

About the Role:
As a Street Cleansing Operative, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of Newport’s streets. Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing daily street cleansing tasks as per contract specifications and route schedules.
• Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including wearing provided uniforms and protective equipment.
• Reporting incidents, accidents, or faults to supervisors.
• Attending training courses when required.
• Engaging with the public professionally and courteously.

This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and following a rostered shift pattern, including weekends, Bank Holidays, and extra-statutory days.What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking enthusiastic candidates with:

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• A Criminal Convictions Declaration.
• A CV demonstrating relevant experience.
• A signed Confidentiality Agreement (required upon offer acceptance).
• Knowledge of the Newport area (essential) and experience in refuse/cleansing services (desirable).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong customer care skills.
• Stamina for physically demanding tasks, including walking, bending, lifting, and carrying.
• A full UK driving licence (desirable).
