Children's Independent Reviewing Officer, Bury
Pay rate £40 per hour
Vitalis Social Care are recruiting for an experienced and qualified Children’s IRO to join an established team in Bury.
Job Purpose and Responsibilities: -

To convene and provide an independent chairing service for multi-agency and departmental meetings in matters relating to Child Protection, Looked after Children, Private Fostering, Supervision Orders & missing from home.
To ensure ‘best practice’, rigour and out-standing care and safety planning for Bury children, working constructively with senior managers and offering a critical perspective and appropriate challenge to the Local Authority.
To ensure the quality of practice within the department. To monitor performance of the local authority’s function as a ‘Corporate Parent’ and identify and challenge areas of poor practise and recognise and promote best practice.
To provide a specialist consultancy and advice service to staff of the department and other agencies.
To drive and facilitate the department in developing strong, safe, effective and transparent relationships with other agencies and wider community networks.
To promote and monitor adherence to the Child Protection and looked after children regulations, guidance and departmental procedures to enable a consistent and high quality service to children and their families who are receiving services from the Department.
