Job Description
A well-respected secondary school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced and inspiring English Teacher for a long-term role starting in September 2025. The Role
You will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of some Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The role includes full teaching duties—planning and delivering lessons, marking work, tracking pupil progress, and contributing to departmental planning. You’ll be expected to inspire a love of reading and writing while helping pupils develop analytical and expressive skills that support success across the curriculum.
The Candidate
This position is ideal for a qualified English teacher (QTS or equivalent) who is confident in delivering high-quality lessons and managing classroom behaviour effectively. You should be passionate about literature and literacy, with the ability to differentiate teaching for diverse learners. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential.
