Meter Reader Operatives – DT3 & DT4 Postcode Areas Only
£12.60 per hour | Temp to Perm | Full-time | No Experience Needed!
Pertemps are excited to be recruiting for Meter Reader Operatives in your local area! This is a fantastic opportunity for those based in the DT3 or DT4 postcode zones – please note, only applicants living within these postcodes will be considered.
Position Details:

• Role: Meter Reader Operative
• Location: DT3 & DT4 postcode areas
• Pay: £12.60 per hour
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week – working between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday
• Overtime: Available at weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
• Contract: Temp to Perm after 15 weeks

The Role:
This is a field-based position that involves visiting residential properties to take meter readings and record them using a mobile device. It’s a great role for those who like working independently and being on the move. No previous experience is required – full training, PPE and equipment are all provided!
Key Responsibilities:

• Use your own vehicle (business insurance required – we can guide you through it)
• Travel to pre-mapped local addresses
• Knock on doors and inform residents you’re there to check their meter readings
• Accurately record readings using a tablet or smartphone
• Move on to the next assigned property in the local area

What We’re Looking For:

• You must be based in the DT3 or DT4 postcode area
• A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• Access to your own vehicle
• Willingness to arrange business use insurance
• A valid DBS (or willingness for Pertemps to carry one out)
