SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant

SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Barnet – Immediate Start 
Pertemps Education is seeking a caring and committed SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Barnet. In this role, you will provide individualised support to a student with special educational needs, helping them overcome learning barriers and fully engage with the curriculum. This position is perfect for someone passionate about making a positive impact on a child’s education. 
 
Location: Barnet 
Pay: £90-£105 per day 
Start Date: December
Interview Date: ASAP 
 
Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide 1:1 tailored support to a student with special educational needs. 

• Assist the student in staying focused and actively participating in lessons. 

• Collaborate with the class teacher to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials as needed. 

• Support the student’s social and emotional development, enhancing their confidence and independence. 

• Monitor the student’s progress and provide updates to the class teacher and SENCo. 

• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for the student. 

 
Qualifications and Skills: 

• Experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a 1:1 setting. 

• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a strong rapport with the student. 

• Knowledge of SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or sensory impairments. 

• Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. 

• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and parents.
