Job Description

Behaviour Mentor – Camden – Immediate Start 
Pertemps Education is seeking a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist secondary provision in Camden. In this role, you will work closely with a secondary school student with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who requires additional behavioural support. You will help him develop positive habits, emotional resilience, and strategies to overcome behavioural challenges, ensuring he can thrive within the school environment. 
 
Location: Camden 
Pay: £93-£120 per day 
Start Date: November 
Interview Date: ASAP 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Provide targeted 1:1 support to a secondary school student with ASD, addressing behavioural challenges and promoting positive engagement. 
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and use positive reinforcement to encourage good conduct and participation. 
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement an individual behaviour plan tailored to the student’s specific needs. 
  • Support the social, emotional, and academic development of the student, fostering a positive attitude toward learning. 
  • Monitor the student's progress and provide regular updates to staff and parents. 
  • Help maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students. 
 
Qualifications and Skills: 
  • Experience working with children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural difficulties, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ideally in a school setting. 
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques. 
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students. 
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies. 
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
