Teacher of the Deaf – Secondary Provision – Haringey 
Are you a passionate teacher looking to make a difference in the lives of deaf and hearing-impaired students? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of the Deaf to join a secondary provision in Haringey.  
 
Role Overview: 
Position: Teacher of the Deaf (Secondary) 
Location: Haringey 
Start Date: Immediate 
Contract: Permanent / Full-Time 
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (Dependent on experience) 
 
We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable teacher who: 

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in a primary or secondary school setting. 

• Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting students with hearing impairments. 

• Does not need a Teacher of the Deaf qualification but must be willing to undertake training. 

• Is eager to learn British Sign Language (BSL) if not already proficient. 

• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, staff, and parents effectively. 

 
Your Responsibilities: 

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons, ensuring accessibility for deaf and hearing-impaired students. 

• Work closely with specialist staff, including interpreters, audiologists, and SEN teams. 

• Use a variety of teaching strategies, including visual and kinaesthetic approaches, to support student learning. 

• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs. 

• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence.
