Job Description
Are you a passionate Primary Teacher looking to make a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? This welcoming and well-resourced special school in East Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Primary SEND Teacher to join their team. This role is ideal for a QTS Primary Teacher with SEND experience or a Primary Teacher looking to transition into a rewarding SEND setting.
As a Primary SEND Teacher, you will teach small classes of pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and communication challenges. You will have the support of experienced Teaching Assistants, a strong leadership team, and access to excellent resources to help every pupil reach their full potential.
Job Role:
- Teaching and inspiring primary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs
- Planning creative and differentiated lessons that promote engagement and progress
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants to provide individualised support for pupils
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals
- Creating a nurturing classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported
- Contributing to wider school life and supporting the delivery of EHCP targets
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – primary trained
- Experience working with pupils with SEND, or a strong desire to move into special education
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
- A caring, patient, and flexible approach to teaching and learning
- Commitment to ensuring every child achieves their best
