Job Description
A welcoming special school in Solihull is seeking a Complex Needs Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis, working Mondays and Tuesdays. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with complex learning needs and providing a nurturing environment where they can thrive.
As a Complex Needs Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons for small groups pupils with a range of special educational needs, including complex learning difficulties. You will work alongside experienced teaching assistants and specialist staff to create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. The role requires a creative and flexible approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons to meet individual pupil needs
- Creating a positive and safe learning environment that promotes independence and confidence
- Working closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to support pupils effectively
- Supporting communication, social, and emotional development of pupils
- Building strong relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals
- QTS and experience teaching pupils with complex needs or special educational needs
- The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to teaching
- Previous experience in a SEND school or specialist setting (desirable)
