Job Description
Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? A nurturing and inclusive special school is looking for dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with a range of complex needs in a primary setting.
The school caters for pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access the curriculum, manage transitions, and develop both academically and socially. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver targeted support that makes a lasting impact.
Job Role:
- Supporting primary-aged pupils with SEND in a classroom setting.
- Assisting with personal care and daily routines where necessary.
- Delivering individual and small group interventions.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Creating a calm, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Being part of a welcoming and supportive school team.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities in SEND practice.
