Job Description
Are you an organised and committed Attendance Officer looking for your next opportunity in a thriving secondary school? This Ofsted “Good” rated academy in Central Birmingham is seeking a reliable Attendance Officer to join the pastoral team for the remainder of the academic year. This is a vital role supporting pupils, families, and staff to ensure excellent attendance across the school.
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Year, you will be responsible for monitoring attendance, identifying concerns, and supporting interventions. Strong communication skills, experience with attendance tracking systems (such as SIMS), and the ability to build relationships with families are essential.
Job Role:
• Monitoring pupil attendance and punctuality on a daily basis.
• Making first-day calls and following up on absences.
• Supporting and implementing attendance intervention strategies.
• Working closely with parents/carers to improve pupil attendance.
• Producing attendance reports for senior staff and external agencies.
