Job Description
Are you a Director of Geography or Head of Geography looking for a new challenge from September 2025? This outstanding secondary school in Birmingham is currently recruiting for a driven Head of Geography to lead a high performing Geography department that is in the top 5% nationwide for both progression and attainment. As Head of Geography, you will be accountable for the day-to-day operation of the geography department, maintaining the outstanding standards of teaching, training and managing staff, and mentoring ECT’s. You will also be working closely with the SLT to ensure that school visions and values are met.
This role requires a Head of Geography who has previous experience running a high performing department. Facilities are outstanding and you will have access to a fantastic range of resources that are shared across the trust. Leadership is committed to excellence and lead by example, going above and beyond to ensure that each child has access to an exceptional education. This role requires a QTS Geography Teacher who has previous experience running a successful humanities of geography department.
Job Role:
- Leading a successful department with high standards.
- Attaining outstanding results that this school has achieved on a regular basis.
- Inspiring both staff and students to be the best that they can be.
- Working alongside the SLT to ensure standards are met across the school.
- Mentoring staff members, including ECT’s.
- Hold Qualified Teaching Status (QTLS).
- Have experience as a Head of Geography, Geography Lead or Director of Geography.
- Enjoy teaching and be passionate about your subject.
- Be ambitious and driven to achieve brilliant results.
