SEND Case Officer – Middlesbrough
£35 per hour | Hybrid working (2 days office-based)

Middlesbrough Council’s SEND Assessment and Review Team are looking for experienced SEND Case Officers to join their outstanding service.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage an allocated caseload of children and young people across the full SEND process, including new referrals, statutory assessments, and ongoing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Monitor progress and ensure statutory milestones are met in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Maintain accurate data and documentation within statutory timeframes
  • Work collaboratively across multi-agency settings to secure the best outcomes for children and families
  • Represent the SEND Assessment and Review Team at meetings and reviews, maintaining strong and professional relationships
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a SEND Case Officer within a local authority setting
  • Strong understanding of statutory SEND processes and the SEND Code of Practice
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and report writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing deadlines
  • Confident in building positive relationships with families, schools, and multi-agency partners
Working arrangements:
Hybrid working model – 2 days per week office-based, with home working for the remainder. Travel to schools and settings across Middlesbrough will be required.
