📍 Location: Brent, London
💰 Pay Rate: £28.98 per hour
⏰ Hours: 36 hours per week

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist to join a supportive Adult Social Care team as part of a structured 12-month preceptorship and development programme.
This role offers an excellent pathway for recently qualified practitioners to build their skills and confidence while delivering meaningful, person-centred occupational therapy interventions that promote independence, health, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete person-centred functional assessments under the Care Act to identify physical, sensory, cognitive, and psychological needs.
  • Develop and implement short treatment plans to promote independence in daily living activities.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing an OT service to adults with physical disabilities, complex needs, or mental health conditions.
  • Provide equipment, minor adaptations, and demonstrate safe use to clients and carers.
  • Support with manual handling assessments and write appropriate care plans.
  • Contribute to housing recommendations, including Disabled Facilities Grants and adaptation reports.
  • Recognise and raise safeguarding concerns, and with support, undertake Section 42 enquiries following Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
  • Apply the Mental Capacity Act and make best-interest decisions where appropriate.
  • Participate in learning events, supervision, and training to develop knowledge and skills.
  • Review interventions and ensure safe, effective outcomes for clients and carers.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration (or pending).
  • Interest in developing a career within Adult Social Care.
  • Understanding of strength-based practice and the Care Act framework.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to learning, reflection, and personal development.
