📊 Data Analyst – Public Sector Opportunity

Location: Craigmillar, Edinburgh (Office Based Role)

Rate: £17.72 per hour

Hours: 36 per week, Monday–Friday

Duration: 2 months (with possible extension)

Start: Immediate

 

Are you an experienced Data Analyst with a passion for turning complex data into actionable insights? Pertemps are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our public sector client, the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, for a temporary Data Analyst role.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact in the public sector, using your analytical expertise to support decision-making and improve services across the organisation.

 

🔑 What you’ll be doing:

• Delivering high-quality, complex data analysis to support evidence-based decision making.
• Working closely with end users to understand their needs and create meaningful reports and dashboards.
• Producing performance summaries using large datasets and innovative analytical techniques.
• Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities through data insights.
• Presenting data in a clear, visual, and accessible way for non-technical audiences.
• Maintaining data quality and improving collection processes.
• Supporting the development of information systems and datasets that drive service improvement.

 

💡 Skills & Experience we’re looking for:

• Proven track record in data analysis and reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills – confident with formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data modelling.
• Experience using reporting/visualisation tools – Power BI is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex insights clearly and persuasively.
• Experience with Business Objects (desirable).
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
