Parking Services Officer - Temp 3 months - £20.86 per hour - West London / Hybrid

Local Authority is seeking a Parking Services Officer to support their Environment team at their West London offices.

This is a temporary position to start ASAP for an initial 3-month period and will pay £20.86 per hour.

The role will be hybrid, working 2-3 days per week at their offices in Hammersmith. 


The Parking Services Officer will be responsible for Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) processing functions and responding to challenges, representations and appeals and other matters related to the Traffic Management Act 2004 and other Traffic Law. Duties include:
  • To be responsible for the suspension of parking bays and parking waivers and dispensations.
  • To administer basic financial functions relating to parking, including PCN reconciliation and liaise with enforcement agents as required.
  • To investigate and process correspondence relating to the issue of PCNs and decide upon acceptance or otherwise of challenges/representations made.
  • To liaise with London Tribunals, deciding on which cases will be contested at adjudication, prepare full case details, and represent the Council in person where necessary.
  • To ensure the full recovery process is carried out in relation to PCNs.
  • To authorise the suspension of parking places, liaising with relevant stakeholders, as required.
  • To authorise the issue of temporary waivers and dispensations.
  • To cover the Customer Service Officer role Monday to Saturday as required.
The ideal Parking Services Officer will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Traffic Management Act 2004, related Traffic Law.
  • Knowledge of the Penalty Charge Notice regulatory framework.
  • Ability to understand and implement the policy for authorising parking bay suspensions, waivers, and dispensations
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally to various stakeholders.
  • Good organisational and team working skills, and the ability to follow tight timescales.
  • An understanding and knowledge of IT software packages e.g. Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases.
