Postal Delivery Worker Bathgate Delivery Office 

 


Pay Rate - £13.37 per hour


Location – Bathgate (Royal Mail, Delivery Office, 2 Inchmuir Rd, Bathgate EH48 2EP)


Start Date: ASAP


Shift Pattern – 9:30am – 4:30pm, working 5 days out of 7. Weekend working will be required


Hours per week – 30 hours (subject to change dependant on requirements) 


Duration – Temporary ongoing as required

Key Responsibilities: 

• You'll start your day in the local delivery office sorting and collecting post/parcels to be delivered 

• You'll be given a hand-held device to capture customer signatures for deliveries. The hand-held will also act as your routing system, telling you where to go to next 

• The role will be physically demanding, where you'll be walking at least 8 miles per day. You will also be required to carry a post bag, delivering letters and parcels 

• Driving and on foot delivery will be required, and you will be required to push/pull a post trolley during deliveries 

 


Key Requirements: 

• MUST hold a valid full UK driving license with a maximum of 6 points in your current address. (a clean license is preferred) 

• Previous delivery or driving experience preferred but not mandatory 

• Excellent time management and organisational skills 

• Strong communication and customer service abilities 

• A commitment to safe and responsible driving practices 

• Working outdoors in all weathers is required 

• Flexible with shift times and days 

• A Basic Disclosure check will be carried out for successful candidates
