Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in preparing cost estimates for various projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of the estimation process. - Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
- Hours: Monday – Thursday 9:00am – 5:00pm and Fridays 9:00am – 4:00pm (36.5 hours per week)

- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for construction projects
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare estimates
- Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimation tools
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender documents
- Monitor and report on project costs and progress
- Develop an understanding of systems, products, and services in order to quote projects accurately
- Liaising with suppliers to obtain prices
- Contacting clients to discuss enquiries and quotations where required
- Logging enquiries on an Excel database, maintaining and updating when necessary
- Estimating small enquiries
- Reading and understanding drawings
- Document preparation, job raising and filing
- Downloading enquiries and ascertaining project flooring requirements
- Utilising Callidus measuring software
- Smart and professional appearance
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic and keen eye for detail
- Methodical approach to solving queries
- Analytical with good numerical skills
- Good time management skills
- Ability to prioritise work and manage a number of tasks concurrently
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Adept at using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Ability to work on own initiative but understand level of responsibility within a team
- GCSE English, Maths, and Information Technology equivalent to grade C and above
