Job Title: Allocations Support Officer – Emergency & Temporary Accommodation
Location: London Borough of Harrow, Forward Drive, Harrow, HA3 8NT
Contract Type: Temporary (Ongoing)
Pay Rate: £16.71 per hour
Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Role Overview:
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a proactive and well-organised Allocations Support Officer to join our Housing team, with a specific focus on Emergency and Temporary Accommodation. This role plays a vital part in helping vulnerable individuals and families secure short-term housing solutions during times of need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the allocation and placement of clients into emergency and temporary housing.
  • Work closely with internal departments, landlords, and accommodation providers to ensure placements are appropriate and timely.
  • Maintain accurate records and update housing systems with placement information.
  • Respond promptly to urgent housing referrals and provide day-to-day administrative support to the Allocations team.
  • Ensure all placements comply with relevant housing legislation, policies, and safeguarding requirements.
The successful candidate needs to have:
  • Previous experience in housing, homelessness services, or a similar support environment.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • A compassionate and solution-focused mindset, with a commitment to supporting vulnerable people.
