Job Description

Our client, a well-established construction company, is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team in Redhill. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to financial planning, reporting, and process management in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track expenditures against budgets, analyse variances, and update budget forecasts
  • Prepare, update, and monitor cash flow statements, P&L reports, and balance sheets
  • Assist in financial planning, cost control, and resource allocation
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual finance reports
  • Provide documentation for external and internal audits to ensure compliance
  • Maintain accurate finance records, contracts, and documents
  • Act as a point of contact for suppliers, clients, and auditors regarding finance queries
  • Oversee the general ledger and sub ledger to ensure correct reconciliation of transactions
  • Handle accounts payable, including invoice verification, approval, and payment processing
  • Maintain and update the sales and purchase ledger
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts
  • Utilise Xero, Excel, and Microsoft Office to support finance management and data analysis

Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar finance role
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, reporting, and reconciliations
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in finance software (Xero preferred), Excel, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
