Are you an experienced Electrical or ICA engineer looking to take the next step in your career?

We have an exciting opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in the development and modernisation of our Sewage Treatment Works in Oxford. This is the perfect chance to transition your technical expertise into the construction assurance space, where you’ll gain broader project exposure while shaping essential infrastructure for the future.

In this role, you’ll use your practical engineering background to influence how critical assets are delivered, ensuring that the systems you know best—from electrical installations to complex ICA controls—are constructed safely, correctly, and to the highest standards. You will be at the forefront of ensuring continuity of essential services and protecting the environment across our Sewage Treatment Plants.

  • Supporting essential design and delivery reviews, identifying risks and issues, and working with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Carry out health and safety audits to ensure relevant issues are corrected.
  • We are focused on the construction phase of wastewater projects, assessing and reporting project progress, acting to rectify issues, and taking the lead on the escalation process if necessary. Also, ensure all non-conformance is identified and corrected.
  • Managing, identifying, and resolving snags and liaising with Operators and contractors after the takeover to handle defects, the aftercare process, and performance testing.
  • Monitored, agreed on, and approved Takeover tests with the project team.
  • Ensure that the required project documentation meets our specifications and that the information for taking over is approved.
  • Working as an active member of one or more project teams with one or more of our contractors.

As part of this role, you must be on site 3-4 days a week, 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

  • Have an HNC or above in an appropriate engineering subject or background in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety on construction sites or an SMSTS qualification can be offered as part of the role if the holder is not currently holding it.
  • Understand design, construction, and operations within industries like the wastewater sector.
  • Have a background in project delivery and integration within the construction sector.
  • Be confident in communicating with various levels of stakeholders.

  • Car allowance of £4,500 per annum.
  • 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)

  • Access to lots of benefits to help you take care of you and your family’s health and wellbeing, and your finances – from annual health MOTs and access to physiotherapy and counselling, to Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers and life assurance.
