Job Description
What you’ll be doing as a Strategic System Optimisation Engineer
- Developing and optimising the strategic water distribution system to improve performance and resilience.
- Supporting initiatives that consider water quality, leakage, energy efficiency, and supply resilience.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on the source-to-tap operation of our water network.
- Providing technical support during unplanned incidents and contributing to contingency planning.
- Mentoring team members and helping to enhance data-driven decision-making across the business.
- Driving improvements through innovative new ways of working and business process reviews.
This position is offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
What you should bring to the role
- Experience in the water industry and knowledge of hydraulic system.
- Strong IT skills and the ability to use data to identify and solve problems.
- Experience with GIS mapping systems, SCADA telemetry, or Microsoft 365 (preferred)
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport.
- A background in project management or civil design/construction would be beneficial.
- Competitive salary from £47,680 up to £49,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
- 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
- Performance-related pay plan up to 10% of salary.
