Job Description
You will be responsible for planning & prioritisation our support driver resource effectively & efficiently to meet the operational needs of the water network field team’s work.
This role carries a high level of responsibility and requires an organised person who can plan efficiently, engage well and communicate with the wider stakeholders involved in the delivery of our repair & maintenance operation.
What you will be doing as a Logistics Supervisor
- Ensure the Logistics Scheduler’s plan, and allocate collection and delivery tasks to our Support Drivers with the appropriate skill set and their respective operating geography through Salesforce (system).
- Ensure the Logistics Scheduler’s plan works preparation (SLG, cone-offs and letter drops) in time to the correct address and are set up ahead of the start of works.
- Ensure that job details are fully compliant with all traffic management / streetworks legislation to avoid any fixed penalty notices/permit fines and that Support Drivers are trained & competent to do so.
- Ensure that Support Drivers maintain a health and safety work environment in line with Thames Water’s Health & Safety commitment.
- Ensure the Logistics Scheduler manages, allocates and prioritises the Support Drivers' work stack to meet priority jobs (2 hour/4 hour) that need to be completed.
- Monitor progress of jobs by regular updates from the planning team, area managers and supervisors to identify if any additional materials, plant, or equipment are required.
- Provide daily reports of resource utilisation and planned/ reactive jobs completed to maintain Inventory Field Operations service commitments.
- Working with Thames Water Traffic Management Team, monitor collections to ensure no overruns and daily engagement with the planning team to ensure that permit end dates do not expire – any potential fines should be immediately escalated to supervisors.
- Track Salesforce for work with forecasted completion date to plan site inspections, site clearance for support drivers.
- Provide a weekly report on expected weekend work to ensure resources and materials are made available.
- Manage & deliver a Support Driver resource plan that meets planned and reactive requirements 7 days a week/365.
Location – Kidlington, Oxfordshire.
Working Hours – 45 hours per week.
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
- You will need to be organised and have a good understanding of work. management/allocation processes and systems.
- You will have excellent attention to detail and scheduling/ planning skills.
- You will need to be competent to work with business-critical systems such as Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- You will need to be experienced in the Utilities infrastructure industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter – ability to hit the ground running.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
