Systems Optimisation Analyst

In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the System Optimisation Team, helping ensure Thames Water delivers safe, reliable and high-quality water services to our customers. You’ll work closely with operational, engineering and leakage teams to monitor, analyse and optimise the performance of the clean water network — keeping it stable and resilient, even in emergency situations.

What you’ll be doing as a System Optimisation Analyst

• Monitoring, investigating and resolving pressure issues, customer complaints and critical alarms.
• Supporting the System Optimisation Engineer during planned and unplanned operational events.
• Analysing network performance data and identifying solutions to maintain system stability.
• Coordinating logging of pressure-managed areas and ensuring data accuracy.
• Supporting risk assessments and operational planning to minimise customer impact.
• Contributing to wider strategies for managing pressures, flows, reservoir levels and pumping regimes.
• Ensuring all operations follow approved Asset Management Procedures.

What you should bring to the role

• Proven experience working with data — strong analytical skills are essential.
• An engineering degree or similar technical background would be a strong advantage.
• Ability to problem-solve and communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable (but not essential).
• Knowledge of GIS mapping software or hydraulic modelling is a plus.
