Job Description
Step into a key role at Thames Water and help shape the future of our infrastructure. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll lead the delivery of high‑impact capital projects and play a central role in transforming and modernising sewage treatment works across the Thames Valley.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Mechanical Engineer
- Deliver high‑quality technical outcomes from Project Definition Briefs, maximising value through strong risk understanding and mitigation.
- Contribute to and continually enhance our Technical Asset Standards.
- Provide design sign-off between Asset Management and Capital Delivery in line with delivery stream requirements.
- Offer technical assurance throughout delivery, commissioning, and handover stages.
Hybrid – based at Clearwater Court, with 2–3 days per week expected onsite or in the office.
Working Hours
36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role
- HNC, HND, or Degree within Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of developing technical project solutions and briefs within your specialist field.
- Experience of project delivery within process‑industry environments.
- Solid knowledge of health & safety requirements within the construction sector.
- Understanding of industrial processes relevant to mechanical engineering.
- Competitive salary from £55,000 to £65,000 per annum.
- Annual Leave -26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
