Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Major Projects team at Thames Water, as we continue to invest in improving the environment and creating a more sustainable water system. This role will provide support to the Thames Valley Project Management team through the delivery of specific activities across a broad range of functions, from financial, commercial, construction, project management, reporting and admin support.
This is a key role, with responsibility for keeping the team organised and running smoothly. Working alongside the Senior Project Management team, in an often fast-paced delivery environment, to track, collate and dispense information that enables efficient project delivery.

What you’ll be doing as a Project Administrator – 9 months Maternity Cover
- Project and office administration.
- Coordinate activities across the team, provide & deliver reports, presentations & analysis of data to support meetings.
- Provide support functions across the Delivery Office through the continual delivery of effective reports and support processes.
- Support delivery through progress tracking and reporting.
- Arrange and facilitate meetings, taking minutes and follow up on actions.
- Raising purchase orders and assisting with the buying and payment team.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures.
- Support the delivery of excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
- Provide onboarding processes for new starters.
- Assist with Health and Safety reporting and safety training activities across the team.

What you should bring to the role
- To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
- Experience working within a delivery-focused team.
- Good understanding of project delivery processes.
- A self-starter with a methodical and analytical approach.
- Excellent communicator externally and internally. (Written, verbal, presentation skills)
- Open and honest style, with an excellent telephone manner and customer service skills.
- Ability to mentor & transfer skills to others.
- Good understanding of customer expectations and our customer base.
- Working knowledge and Intermediate level of Office IT Systems. (including MS Office (Excel, Word), MS Outlook E-mail)
- Problem solving, decision making in relation to planning tasks.
- Database administration experience, including data entry and basic reporting.
- Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:
- SAP / CRM experience would be ideal.
