Job Description
What you’ll be doing as a Trunk Sewer Technician
- This is a safety-focused role and will require you to work closely with your team members.
- Day to day you will be maintaining and operating the sewer network and its associated assets whilst carrying out basic mechanical maintenance and fault finding.
- The work involves confined space access working in some of London’s most challenging Subterranean areas.
Working pattern: 38 hours per week, Monday - Friday (6:30 - 15:36), with 1 week of nights in 5
Necessary requirements for the role: due to the nature of the role a valid UK driving licence is preferable.
What should you bring to the role?
- Complete planned, emergency and defect maintenance of the trunk sewer network. Previous experience in maintenance would be advantageous and in particular mechanical bias, with previous qualifications desirable but not essential.
- Complete manual handling activities to operate large mechanical assets and grounds maintenance; therefore, you must be physically fit and prepared to work in a challenging environment daily.
- Have a proactive approach to your work and demonstrate that you can work positively and effectively within a team environment.
- You will need to be a keen and motivated team member, able to demonstrate initiative and a flexible approach to work.
- Good verbal communication skills are essential to ensure Health & Safety compliance.
- Willing to work on a shift pattern, with 1 week of nights in 5 and complete an out-of-hours call-out rota.
- To carry out this role you will be required to be clean-shaven.
- Competitive salary up to £29,000 per annum depending on skills and experience plus the inclusion onto a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.
- PPE and training are provided.
- Annual Leave - 24 days holiday per year increasing to 28 with the length of service (Plus bank holidays)
- Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
