Business Support Administrator
Location: Derriford, Plymouth, PL6
Contract Type: Temporary (06 October 2025 - 30 January 2026)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Pay Rate: £12.85 per hour
Closing Date: 27 September 2025

Pertemps are currently seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Business Support Administrator to join our client's team. This is a customer-facing role requiring a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. You will provide administrative support to a team of Registrars and the Coroner's Court, handling sensitive information with accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent customer service across face-to-face, online, and telephone interactions
- Provide advice and guidance to customers and book appointments in line with local guidelines
- Check applications, assess evidence, and produce documents based on set criteria
- Input and maintain data across multiple systems including Academy, Civica, and Carefirst
- Process customer requests and financial transactions securely and confidentially
- Support various council teams with routine administrative tasks and ensure data quality
- Contribute to service improvements by offering suggestions for efficiency and best practice
- Perform other duties appropriate to the grade of the post

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams
- Strong customer care skills with experience in providing information and signposting
- Proven ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Numeracy and literacy skills for handling data and producing documents
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experience in administrative procedures and maintaining confidential records
- Capable of making decisions based on set criteria and resolving customer issues

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Business Administration or related field
- Customer care training or qualification
- Basic understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Experience in process improvement initiatives
