What you’ll be doing as a Senior Environmental Engineer
  • Lead on excellence in environmental engineering across the Thames Water business.
  • Input and continuously improve Technical Asset Standards
  • Review the environmental impact of schemes and feed into a lessons learnt database
  • Define, develop, and maintain ecological engineering competencies across the business
  • Provide environmental and technical input into project definition briefs, asset surveys and plant condition assessments, feasibility studies, optioneering, whole-life costing and preliminary designs
  • Provide the technical sign-off and assurance during technical delivery, including handover
  • Ensure we are compliant with engineering-based regulatory requirements in their area
  • Devising the best tools and systems to monitor performance and implement strategies
  • Assessing, analysing, and collating environmental performance data and reporting information to stakeholders
Based in Hybrid, Clearwater Court, you will be required on-site as part of your role requires you to
36 hours a week, Monday to Friday

What you should bring to the role
  • Take ownership of risks, being curious to fully understand the constraints and identify the best solution to resolve it the first time
  • Be a recognised senior engineer in environmental engineering with extensive experience in the water or utility industry
  • Have expertise in one or more of these areas: carbon, natural-based solutions, natural capital management or biodiversity
  • Understand the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our engineering regulatory requirement
  • Be a chartered environmental engineer or working towards chartership
  • Have excellent communication and influencing skills to engage with our stakeholders clearly
  • Deliver exceptional service through a passionate and positive approach, taking accountability for your role while working accurately and flexibly within a busy team
