Job Description
What you’ll be doing as an Environmental Permitting Specialist
- You will manage permits related to our wastewater assets and contribute to our WINEP programme for AMP7.
- Act as a technical lead on permitting matters for Water Treatment Works.
- Advise on regulatory outputs to support our business plan.
- Negotiate with the Environment Agency on new permits and permit changes.
- Ensure timely completion of permit reviews and requests from the Environment Agency.
- Support teams to improve compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
What you should bring to the role:
- A Degree in a scientific or environmental discipline (preferred).
- Experience in negotiating water discharge permits with the Environment Agency is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Water Discharge Activity Environmental Permitting or a willingness to develop expertise.
- Understanding of the Environmental Permitting Regulations and regulatory framework within the Water Industry.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to negotiate and liaise with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of wastewater and water treatment processes is desirable.
- Competitive salary from £36,240 to £50,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
- Annual Leave - 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
- Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
