The Company
Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established professional services firm in Central London to recruit an Audit & Accounts Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a tight-knit team, working closely with partners and directors, providing client-focused, commercially aware services across a wide range of sectors. There is a particular focus on not-for-profit clients, including charities, schools, NHS charities, and other similar organisations, alongside commercial clients for those seeking a mixed portfolio.

The Role
The Audit & Accounts Supervisor will manage and deliver audits and accounts preparation, with a strong focus on not-for-profit clients. You will mentor, train, and supervise junior team members, ensuring high technical standards and efficient service delivery. The role provides client-facing experience at partner and director level and the opportunity to contribute to practice development.

 
Key Responsibilities of the Audit & Accounts Supervisor:
  •  Supervise audits and accounts work for a varied client portfolio, with a focus on not-for-profit organisations.
  •  Review junior team members’ work and provide guidance on technical accounting and audit matters.
  •  Prepare statutory accounts, consolidated accounts, and corporation tax computations (CT600).
  •  Lead audits on-site, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  •  Draft management recommendations and support audit close-out meetings.
  •  Mentor, motivate, and develop junior staff, supporting their professional growth.
  •  Liaise with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong professional relationships.
  •  Identify practice development opportunities and assist with business growth initiatives. 
 
Skills & Experience required of the Audit & Accounts Supervisor:
  •  ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualified.
  •  Proven experience leading audits and preparing accounts.
  •  Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
  •  Experience with accounting software such as Pro-Audit, CCH, Xero, QuickBooks, Alphatax, and Office 365 is desirable.
  •  Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  •  Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise, and work under deadlines.
  •  Motivated, personable, and confident in client-facing situations.
