Sheridan Maine is excited to partner with a reputable accountancy practice near Chelmsford, Essex to recruit a Trainee Accountant. The role:
As a Trainee Accountant, you will assist the finance team in a variety of accounting tasks, gaining exposure to audits, accounts preparation, and client advisory work. This role offers a great foundation for developing technical skills and working towards your professional qualifications.

Your key responsibilities as the Trainee Accountant:
  • Assisting with preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements.
  • Supporting audits and client engagements.
  • Maintaining accurate bookkeeping and reconciliations.
  • Preparing VAT returns and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Providing support to senior accountants and partners.
  • Developing knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.

The ideal Trainee Accountant will have:
  • A strong academic background, ideally studying or intending to study towards ACA/ACCA.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills.
  • Good organisational and time management abilities.
  • A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
