Job Description

A thriving, global business and leader in its market has engaged Sheridan Maine to hire a talented and skilled Finance professional to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a dynamic, international environment, contributing to core financial operations and reporting across multiple EMEA regions.
 
The role:
The successful candidate will support the preparation of statutory accounts across multiple EMEA regions and manage daily treasury operations. This role demands solid technical expertise in international accounting standards, a sharp eye for detail, and confidence working within complex, multi-jurisdictional reporting frameworks.

Your responsibilities as the Financial Accountant will include:
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and support external audits across various EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with global finance teams and external stakeholders to resolve technical queries and ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Provide accurate reconciliations, analysis, and reporting to support financial decision-making and compliance.
  • Contribute to daily treasury operations, including cash management, fund transfers, and currency transactions across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate for Financial Accountant will have/be:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Applicants due to qualify within the next 6 months will also be considered.
  • Applications welcomed from candidates qualified within practice and making their first move into industry. 
  • Sound technical expertise and knowledge of international accounting standards (e.g. FRS 102, IFRS, and ideally US GAAP).
  • High level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to complex financial data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 
This role is predominately home-based, with a few days per month required to attend the Birmingham based office. Applicants must therefore be based within easy commuting distance of Birmingham.
