Role: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Uxbridge (Hybrid – 3 Days In-Office Weekly)
Salary: £43,000 - £55,000
Network IT is recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer to join a leading institution in London. This permanent role offers the opportunity to take a lead position within the Network Team, ensuring the efficient operation, development, and security of large-scale enterprise networks.
You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex network infrastructure, providing 3rd line support, and acting as a subject matter expert across multiple networking domains. This role will suit an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, driving innovation, and leading on technical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise network services.
  • Provide advanced 3rd line support for wired, wireless, and connectivity issues.
  • Act as SME across at least three technology areas (e.g. Security, Wireless, Routing & Switching, NAC, Firewalls, Telephony).
  • Deliver expertise in network infrastructure design, installation, and documentation.
  • Support critical infrastructure areas and ensure resilience of network services.
  • Monitor and optimise network services using management and diagnostic tools.
  • Contribute to projects, change management, and continuous service improvements.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and front-line support teams.
Experience Requirements:
  • Strong technical background in enterprise networking, including routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, and security technologies.
  • Proven experience leading the resolution of complex, technical network issues.
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals, connectivity standards, and BYOD environments.
  • Confident working with multiple device platforms (Microsoft, Apple, Linux, Android).
  • Ability to design, document, and enhance large-scale network services.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor and share knowledge.
