An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marine Engineering Training Instructor to join a leading organisation supporting critical defence operations.
The Role
This is a unique and rewarding position where you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering training to Submarine Service personnel. Using your specialist knowledge of nuclear propulsion and marine engineering systems, you will help ensure learners are fully equipped to operate and maintain vital systems safely and effectively.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Delivering classroom and simulator-based training to Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operators and Marine Engineering Equipment Maintainers.
- Working with training designers to update course content in line with evolving technical requirements.
- Providing subject matter expertise when reviewing technical information and course materials.
- Delivering additional safety-related training (e.g., Confined Space, Working at Height).
- Contributing to the ongoing review and enhancement of training materials.
Essential Experience
- Royal Navy Submarine Service: Category A or B Watchkeeping Qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of Naval Nuclear Steam Raising Plant operation.
- Recent hands-on experience with current technical competency.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage learners.
Required Qualifications
- Royal Navy Submarine Service Category A or B Watchkeeping Qualification.
- Security Clearance
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.
