Job Description
We’re currently seeking to speak with experienced finance professionals for an exciting opportunity with a major manufacturing employer in the Ayrshire area. This role offers a competitive salary of around £46,000, excellent benefits including bonus, incremental salary reviews, and flexible working arrangements.
The ideal candidate will bring experience from a manufacturing environment and have a strong background in inventory accounting. We welcome applications from those who are part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by experience.
As Management Accountant, you will apply a broad range of accounting skills to support both local and US reporting requirements related to working capital, supply chain costs, and forecasts. You’ll provide insightful financial forecasting, analysis, and commentary, while acting as the main point of contact for all supply chain-related finance queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and review working capital reporting packs for internal and group reporting.
- Support and maintain the financial modelling framework to enable accurate quarterly business forecasts.
- Analyse and challenge inputs from supply chain, material, and general supply functions during quarterly forecasting cycles.
- Lead monthly performance reviews with supply chain management, ensuring accountability for actions and outcomes.
- Review and validate cost variation reports to ensure updates are correctly reflected in Bills of Material
- Monitor and resolve Purchase Price Variances
- Perform regular reconciliation of SAP BoMs to the Blue Book.
- Act as the finance focal point for supplier claims, coordinating with SCM on progress and resolution.
- Prepare and present detailed financial performance reports for both European and US corporate audiences.
- Handle large datasets, providing clear, accurate analysis through advanced Excel and TM1 skills.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, customers, and suppliers as required.
- Ensure integrity of financial reporting for:
- Annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Supply chain performance tracking
- Cost analysis and variance commentary for US and local stakeholders
- Support the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process through variance analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement in data integrity, process efficiency, and system accuracy.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure financial data and assumptions are accurate and fully aligned across the business.
- Degree qualified with relevant professional experience.
- Accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or currently studying towards one.
- Prior experience within a manufacturing finance environment (ideally with inventory accounting exposure).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel and TM1.
