Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist

Pertemps are currently seeking a Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist to join our well-established client based in Stoke-on-Trent. This role offers a great opportunity to work on a range of mechanical engineering projects, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems across industrial and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities of this Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist role:

• Operation of CNC machines and manual machines including vertical borers, mills, and lathes
• Setting and operating machinery to produce high-precision mechanical components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Carrying out routine maintenance and basic fault diagnosis on machinery
• Assisting with installation and servicing of mechanical systems in industrial and commercial settings
• Always adhering to health and safety procedures
• Working closely with the wider engineering and maintenance team

Key Skills and Experience required for this Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist role:

• Previous experience as a machinist, CNC operator, or similar role within a mechanical engineering environment
• Skilled in using vertical borers, milling machines, and other machine shop equipment
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Solid understanding of mechanical principles and systems
• Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and fault-finding
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Details of this Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist role:

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
