Job Description

Health & Safety Advisor | Dudley
Permanent | Full-Time
Mon to Thurs: 8:30am – 5:00pm | Fri: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Are you ready to take full ownership of Health & Safety in a thriving, fast-paced environment where your impact will be seen and valued from day one?

Our client, a respected and well-established manufacturing business in Dudley, is on the lookout for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team in a stand-alone role. You’ll be the driving force behind health, safety, and environmental compliance, with the added reassurance of external consultancy support when needed.
This is your opportunity to step into a key position where your voice matters, your ideas are welcomed, and your expertise will help shape the future of safety across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing No two days will be the same. You’ll be both the strategic thinker and the hands-on implementer, working with teams across all levels to embed a strong, positive safety culture. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the go-to expert for all Health & Safety matters across the business
  • Ensuring full compliance with current legislation, standards, and best practices
  • Creating and maintaining risk assessments, COSHH documentation, and safe systems of work
  • Designing and delivering engaging training sessions for shopfloor teams
  • Keeping all Health & Safety training records current and relevant
  • Managing contractor compliance and on-site safety standards
  • Leading the charge in maintaining:
    • ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
    • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
    • ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
  • Supporting internal audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Taking ownership of EHS inductions and new starter onboarding
  • Investigating incidents and near misses thoroughly, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Promoting a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility
What We’re Looking For We want someone who’s not just qualified—but passionate. Someone who thrives on responsibility, communicates with confidence, and brings energy and enthusiasm to every challenge.
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or Coordinator role
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or higher IOSH qualification) is essential
  • Strong working knowledge of HSE legislation and industry standards
  • Background in manufacturing, logistics, or production environments
  • Audit experience and ISO knowledge highly desirable
  • Confident communicator with a proactive and approachable style
  • A natural leader who can influence, coach, and inspire others
Why This Role? This isn’t just another safety job. It’s a chance to lead, shape, and own the H&S function of a forward-thinking business. You’ll be part of a company that genuinely values its people, invests in continuous improvement, and champions innovation.
