Residential Conveyancing Solicitor / Fee Earner
Salary: Up to £50K DOE
Hybrid working pattern  
 
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor / Fee Earner to join a well-regarded firm with a reputation for providing valued, personal, and reliable service to clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a full caseload from instruction through to legal completion, build strong client relationships, and work collaboratively within a supportive team.
You will be responsible for ensuring all matters are handled efficiently and accurately, maintaining the highest standards of client care, and taking ownership of your professional development while contributing to the success of the department and firm.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of residential conveyancing and property matters in accordance with firm procedures, quality standards, and client care expectations.
  • Achieve agreed levels of billing, time recording, aged debt management, and other key performance indicators.
  • Progress client matters in a timely manner, keeping clients regularly updated on progress and costs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all documentation and information, including use of the firm’s case management system.
  • Take responsibility for credit control on your matters, with guidance and support from the Credit Control/Accounts team.
  • Ensure compliance with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, Solicitors’ Code of Conduct, and Conveyancing Quality Standard.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with external organisations, supporting business development and generating referrals.
  • Supervise and support conveyancing assistants, ensuring effective performance, development, and wellbeing.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, contributing constructively and raising key matters of concern.
  • Take ownership of personal performance and development, attending performance reviews and completing relevant training.
  • Contribute to a positive working ethos through adherence to the Colleague Charters.
 
Skills and Capabilities:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to listen to clients and colleagues and respond professionally and respectfully.
  • Strong written communication skills, producing clear, concise correspondence that upholds the firm’s professional image.
  • Organisational ability, including ownership of tasks, prioritisation, and effective time management.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and case management systems (Proclaim preferred).
  • Collaborative team player, supportive, respectful, and contributing to a positive workplace environment.
