Job Description

Are you an experienced CNC Miller Programmer / Setter with experience in a Toolroom environment who would like to extend their career with a Major Steel company based in the West Bromwich area?

They provide products for the construction and manufacturing industries with focus on added value through design, precision manufacturing and on-time in full product deliveries.
This role is of key importance to the continued growth and development of the company reporting in the Technical Manager.

Person Specification: 
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Bench Fitting Experience.
  • CNC & Manual Milling: Preferred experience with Siemens ShopMill and XYZ Prototrak Control.
  • Experience in piercing, forming, and cut-off tooling.
  • Familiarity with EDM wire erosion techniques is useful.
  • Organized & Self-Motivated.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for communication and record-keeping.
  • Accuracy is paramount in all work carried out.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels.

Your Responsibilities: 
  • Operate standard tool room equipment proficiently.
  • Use a forklift truck to assist with daily duties and tooling deliveries.
  • Ensure timely manufacturing to meet try-out dates.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Collaborate with contractors and suppliers, agreeing on timescales and costs.
  • Comply with Health & Safety regulations and company rules.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, adhering to set procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to business KPIs.
