Location: Central Bristol - Hybrid
Employment Type: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in office)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Holidays: 25 days plus Bank holidays.

Overview:
We are pleased to be supporting our client who is seeking a skilled and organised Legal Secretary to join their Bristol office. The successful candidate will provide high-quality secretarial support to fee earners, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient management of daily tasks. This is a dynamic role that requires excellent organisational, communication, and administrative skills, combined with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage diaries for fee earners, including scheduling meetings and conference calls.
- Monitor fee earners' emails during their absence, responding and booking meetings or conference calls as necessary.
- Arrange travel, including booking train tickets and preparing itineraries.
- Handle telephone enquiries professionally, taking accurate messages and following up on agreed actions.
Document and Correspondence Management:
- Oversee document workflows, ensuring timely delivery of work, amend and format legal documents and agreements as needed.
- Handle short copy-typing tasks and digital dictation.
- Organise and index legal documentation; set up files as required.
- Proofread documents to ensure accuracy and high-quality output.
- Draft general correspondence as needed.
- Maintaining WIP schedules and ensuring all matters are billed, including checking rates, references etc.
- Liaising with Finance regarding aged debt management
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong IT skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous secretarial experience in a busy corporate environment, preferably within legal services.
- Excellent communication skills, with a professional demeanour when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage and prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Commitment to professional growth and learning, with a demonstrated growth mind set.
- Ability to deliver an exceptional service experience.
- Works well within a team, fostering strong working relationships.
- Capable of delegating tasks effectively and collaboratively.
