Trade Counter Manager – Electrical Wholesale
Location: Northampton
Salary: £31,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We’re on the lookout for an experienced and enthusiastic Trade Counter Manager to lead a busy and fast-paced trade counter within the electrical wholesale sector.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service, thrives in a dynamic environment, and enjoys building strong relationships with both customers and colleagues. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operation of the trade counter to ensure an exceptional customer experience
  • Greet and engage with all visitors, providing a warm and professional welcome
  • Keep the trade counter clean, organised, and well-stocked at all times
  • Ensure all promotional displays are relevant, attractive, and regularly updated
  • Lead customer loyalty and incentive schemes, games, and seasonal promotions
  • Drive sales by proactively interacting with customers and identifying opportunities
  • Coach, support, and develop trade counter staff to maintain service standards
  • Monitor and maintain facilities such as the coffee machine, in-store media, and climate control
  • Share valuable customer feedback with management to help shape future offers and services
  • Assist with general tasks including stock replenishment, picking, and warehouse duties when needed
What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a trade counter or customer-facing role (electrical wholesale experience is a strong advantage)
  • Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • A hands-on leader who can motivate others and lead by example
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to get involved in all areas of the branch operation
  • A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to take initiative
