Production Planner
South Birmingham Location
Early finish on a Friday!
We are currently seeking a highly organised and proactive Production Planner to join our clients growing manufacturing team. This pivotal role is responsible for transforming customer orders into a detailed, efficient production schedule that ensures on-time delivery, maximises machine and manpower utilisation, and aligns with sales targets.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Manager and other key departments to plan, monitor, and adjust schedules, ensuring a smooth workflow from order entry through to dispatch.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a production schedule that balances on-time delivery, sales output, and resource efficiency.
Collaborate with the Production Manager to align capacity plans with manpower and equipment availability.
Generate electronic production route cards using the Western Pegasus app to manage workflow using a FIFO method.
Monitor work orders throughout the production cycle and adjust plans for issues such as scrap, machine downtime, or urgent jobs
Communicate directly with customers to provide updates and proactively address any scheduling changes.
Work cross-functionally with design, quoting, and admin teams to ensure alignment on lead times and production planning.
Provide long-term forecasts and production reports to senior management based on the current order book.
Support performance reviews and employee evaluations alongside the Production Manager and Operations Director.

What We're Looking For
Candidates from small batch production / bespoke goods.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is essential.
 Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to give clear direction and respond to evolving demands.
 Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail.
Experience coordinating production or operations workflows in a manufacturing environment.
 Confident, assertive, and capable of leading others to meet deadlines and targets.
